This time, the date for the historic Esala Perahera Maha Mangal has been set.
The Diyawadana Nilame of the Sri Dalada Maligawa, Pradeep Nilanga Dela, stated in a discussion held at the Ran Auda Mandapam of the Sri Dalada Maligawa today (19) that the Esala Perahera will begin on the 25th of July with the planting of the auspicious cups at the four great temples.
Accordingly, after the 5-day internal perahera of the temples, the first Kumbal Perahera is scheduled to take place on the streets on the 30th of July.
After the Kumbal Perahera takes place on the streets from the 30th of July to the 3rd of August, the first Randoli Perahera will take place on the streets on the 4th of August and the last Randoli Maha Perahera will take place on the 4th of August.
